"Hi! I’m Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic and I am here on behalf of Expert Village.com to talk to you today about caring for kittens. So as our kittens grow up just a little bit and they get to be about 3 weeks, their first teeth begin to come in and while you will still be nursing them a little bit, you want to encourage them to start eating regular cat food. So ways that you can do this is you can have a bowl, probably a little bit smaller than this, but that’s probably not too bad. There are different brands of kitten chow. This one is by Science Diet and this one is by Royal Canine, a different brand that owns a couple of other companies so they make some good foods through their alliances or their companies and then you can also use your over the counter things like Purina Cat Chow. Those are not bad but these are the higher quality that you would buy at your veterinary office. They are generally going to be better just because of the research that has gone into them. So you can take these foods and mix them with either water or even some of the liquid milk that you’ve made from the powder with your KMR Veta-Lac milk replacer. So you can put that in there and the kitties will be into playing in it as they start getting around, moving around and then they start licking it off themselves and then they start going, “this is pretty good”. So they will start to eat it just because they are throwing food at each other and having food fights so pretty so pretty soon they are going, this is something we can enjoy. So they will learn to do that and little by little you won’t have to do this so much anymore."
