"Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and on behalf of expertvillage.com we are talking today about teaching your cat to actually come when called like a dog because this can really help when they are in the house and they are in another room, and if you call them and they come running that is a form of exercise, so that is one way to walk your cat. So the most important thing, many, many cats are not trained to enjoy treats, but if you start early and you find treats that your cat will love and you just have to sort of experiment, once you find the ones that your cats love then it is really important to teach your kitties some form of calling, so if your cats are over there, which mine are not at the moment and you learn, you get them to learn that every time you go, hey kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, come on kitty, they may come, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, and they get their little treat; you will always have to give them a treat when they come, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty. There we go and if you could imagine because these are all coming for their treats if they were in the other room they do come running and I have taught these two at least, when I am in my bed and they are in the other room, if I go here kitty, kitty, kitty, they come running, and they get their treats; and I did that from a very early age. So that is one way I walk my cats by moving around the house and calling them; so that is one good way to get them move around the house and get some exercise. "
