"Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan on behalf of expertvillage.com and I want to talk to you a little bit about preventing obesity in cats. Obesity is one of the #1 causes of diseases in cats much like it is in people and keeping your cat slim is part of keeping them healthy. So in addition to a good diet and proper feeding techniques you want to try to get them some exercise and one way to do that is put a harness and a leash on them and go for a walk like a dog and certainly with some cats; and if you start early that can work very well and the kind of harness, there is only one that comes made for cats and you get him used to wearing it and you walk them on a leash and that is certainly one way you can exercise your cat; but exercise can come in many other forms and playing with toys and scratching and stretching on scratching posts and scratching boards are all part of other ways to get some exercise for your cat.
