How to Harness a Difficult Cat

And we are going to see how far we get with it and these are things you may run into when you start trying to get your cat to walk on a harness, unless of course you start at a very early age and get them used to it, really early in life. So this is Spidermonkey and he is extremely spoiled and has never had to have a collar on, let alone a harness, but we are going to try to put this harness on him and see if we get him to go for even a little bit of a walk. So I know, come on, it is alright, I know, he is not going to like it, I know and if they are having trouble there is always that handy dandy scruff and there we go we get this turned around and then...I know baby it is alright, it is like torture, he says it is torturing me, okay, alright, it is alright baby, okay, I know, so he is really protesting, okay, I know. So now we get it on him and we are going to ask him to walk a little bit and we are going to use treats to try to encourage him to walk a little bit, want a treat, walk, give him a little bit of encouragement and when he gets to the treat, he eats the treat and then we can give him another treat and walk toward that treat, and there we go, that is good boy, alright, here, now do it again, now do it again for another treat, hurry before, there you go, alright, see if you can walk a little farther, come on, come on, before Vincent gets it, before Vincent gets it, there you go… so if you keep trying that pretty soon he won’t be such a screamer. So that he didn’t like it so well."
