"Hi1 My name is Sally from expertvillage.com from Fish Fantasy in Riverside. We are going to be speaking about how to buy healthy fish. To clean a fish tank first of all, you have to syphon and this is what you will need. This helps to remove some of the water. You want to remove at 25 percent once a month. If not, 10 percent every 2 weeks is best. You syphon the bottom. Your tank is not going to be totally clean. It's okay if there is some debris left behind. It will eventually get broken down by the organisms that live in the gravel. After you syphon, you want to scrub. Unless you have a Plecostomus which is a wonderful fish because it helps to eat the algae off of the glass and they eat all the algie that floats and your glass is nice and clean. A Plecostomus is a fish that is in the catfish family. There is many many different types of catfish. We have real exotic stuff like the Royal Plecostomus and they are beautiful. That's a Royal. They have stripes and they are very pretty. Those are very pricey, the more exotic species. "
