"Hi! My name is Sally from expertvillage.com from Fish Fantasy in Riverside. We are gonig to be speaking about how to buy healthy fish. The Oscar fish is the South American cichlod. They are pisciverous, they eat other fish. They don't like any vegetation in their diet. You can feed them pellets or feeder fish. These are all South American Cichlids and they can all interact as long as they are all about the same size. The problem with Oscars is they are not as aggressive as some other South American so you have to be careful. Say you have a Red Devil or a Texas Cichlid, not to mix them with the Oscar because they usually end up killing up their Oscar as they get bigger. Oscar is more of a passive South American Cichlid or semi-aggressive; not really passive. If you were to mix an Oscar with one of these species, they would eventually probably end up killing the Oscar most of the time. These are more aggressive; much much more aggressive. So you need at least a 100 gallons or more to have a community of South American Cichlids; aggressive South American Cichlids. "
