"Now most milk snakes are fairly small species, not exceeding three feet in length. So you do not need a large enclosure for them. For a full grown milk snake, I would recommend either a twenty gallon tank with cage clips on top, because these guys can be escape artists. You want a secure enclosure. I prefer to use PVC enclosures. They're a little bit lighter. They're stackable and easy to store. Especially when you have a confined space. To even make it more secure, and if you have kids, which like to get into things, you can get a sliding lock for the glass door. I'm going to take this glass off so you can actually get a better view inside the tank. You can see there is ample space in here for a three foot long milk snake. I removed the water dish, but you want to keep a water dish in there. Fill that water dish only about half full. That is because milk snakes, like a lot of snakes like to soak in their water. If you fill up the water dish to much, it?s going to spill over onto your substrate and create a wet mess. For smaller milk snakes, such as this yearling, that's in here, you can use a small pet habitat, or a five or a ten gallon tank. That works just fine. Now the snake, when it gets larger, I would move it over into a larger enclosure."
