"A food for your Hognose Snake is nothing special; it's your basic snake food which consists of mice and rats. Hognose Snakes, obviously are too small to take rats, so mice is going to be pretty much their diet once they're switched over from their prey items which could be lizards or toads. For smaller, for neonates, of course you are going to need pinkie mice. Again, these come readily available at any pet store. They sell frozen mice which you simply just thaw it out when it's time to feed your snake. You can thaw it out the night before or you can put them in a warm cup of water, it only takes a couple minutes for them to thaw that way. Always feed your snake dead food, live food can fight back, and also it's a lot easier to store dead food, it's a lot easier to put this in the freezer instead of trying to keep a big tank of live mice. As the snake gets bigger, of course it's going to graduate to larger food mice. These are pinkies, these are called hoppers, and then when your snake gets really large, some large Hognose Snakes will actually take full grown mice."
