Ingredients for Thai Papaya Salad

"On behalf of Expert Village this is Dina Cutrone from Tall Order in New York City. Today we are going to be showing you how to make a quick and easy Thai dinner. So now we are going to work on our papaya salad which is in a Thai cook you would see it as a papaya salad or a southern salad. These are the ingredients so you can see this right here is the papaya so it is quiet large. Usually in the Thai cooking they like it to be the greener the better so it is really actually not that ripe. So it is a tougher consistency. This is just some mesclun salad that I'm going to use for the bases for the salad. So I'm going to put all the other elements on top of the mesclun salad. So I'm not going to actually do anything with that right now but when we put the salad together you would see it. Here is fish sauce this is actually a traditional Thai's use in a lot of there cooking. It is actually made from anchovies so it is a fish taste. It is quiet strong but usually off set with some sweetness. Then we have our 2 garlic cloves, we have these are just French beans. You can use Thai long beans if you could find them but the green beans are fine. So that would be part of the salad. This is a Israeli cucumber you can use any type of cucumber I just like these I just think they are very tasty. Here is a jalapeño actually I'm using 3 of these but I have one that I have not cut so I have the other 2 ready deseeded and cut. Then just a regular tomato and then we have some lime juice so we would squeeze out some juice from here. "
