"Now, I'm going to show you how to chop up the onion. And we're using a purple onion, and it's not by accident because we're trying to make this as pretty with colors. We have the red from the tomatoes, the white from the cucumbers, the green from the green peppers. And so the purple from the onion will make it a very attractive soup. So what we're going to do first is you just cut off the two ends. And we want to do this no crying. No crying, now. So and cut it in half lengthwise. And the secret for no crying is to hold the cut end away from you. That's the secret. You hold it away. There is no crying. And again, for this, we just need to do a coarse chop because it's going into the food processor. So we're just going to make about one inch slices, and cut it this way, too.
