"From soups to nuts, appetizers encompass all kinds of wonderful flavors. So let's start with nuts. I have here a package of brand new fresh mixed nuts. Try to get the ones that have less peanuts, because you want all the beautiful flavors of cashews and pecans and Brazilian nuts to all blend in with the least amount of peanuts. Peanuts are good, but they ain't all that. To the marinade, I'm going to add just a tiny bit of canola oil. Nuts already have a high content of oil, so you don't need much. But just a little so that it will help the spices that I'm going to add to it, stick to them. Okay? I'm going to add a little chili powder for a little kick. Just some good shakes. I'm going to add my secret ingredient nutmeg. Because that gives not only fragrance and color but a really nice warm flavor. And just a tiny bit of cinnamon. Just to give it that what the heck is that flavor in there also feeling. I'm going to blend it with my fingers. My nice clean hands and then I'm going to put them all in a baking sheet. Won't you join me over here at my stove? I had my oven preheating at 350. Which is a great all around temperature. Alright, I'm going to put all of my nicely blended nuts on this baking sheet and spread them out to a nice flat pattern so they can evenly roast. And in the oven they go. Three fifty for about maybe ten minutes. You'll start smelling them. That'll tell you when they're done. There you go. Seasoned, spiced nuts."
