"My name is Brandon Sarkis and on behalf of Village Experts I am here to show you how to make a creamy tomato basil soup. Alright so we are using real whole garlic. What I am going to do is take it and lay it all out here on the cutting board and I am going to show you a real fast way to cut it. Take and put the blunt end of your knife take your palm and place it on the knife, be careful and don't push on the sharp side and cut yourself. Give it a nice crunch like that. What will happen is you will see that it is much much easier to peel. It almost just kind of falls right out of the paper. Pretty nifty huh. We are still going to cut this up a little bit. These two pieces look like they did not work so there we go. That just saved you however long it would take to peel that garlic the hard way. Once you start peeling garlic your fingers get sticky and then if you get a piece that will not peel you can just take your knife again like that and mash it. A really great way to peel a whole lot of garlic really quickly is this way. If you are wondering about that wonderful garlic being stuck on your hand use stainless steel that you get at the store to take the odor off your hands. They sell these neat little pieces of stainless steel. You can get them at the store and they are designed to take the odor off of your hand. I am here to tell you that they actually work. There is something in stainless steel and some sort of chemical reaction will magically remove the odor of onions and garlic from clinging to your hands. You can wash your hands and then rub them with stainless steel and it will pull the odor right off your hand. Stainless steel should be called odorless steel since the onions and garlic will not stick to it. Now that I have finally got the garlic peeled I am going to give it just a nice rough once over. Chop it into nice small pieces. There we go it's as simple as that. We will put them back in this thing and move on to our next step which if you're keeping score, our next step is the onions. Boo, I hate cutting onions, brings a tear to my eye or multiple tears to both my eyes. Alright, here we go."
