"Hi on behalf of Expert Village my name is Andrea Spano and I'm going to show you a couple of soups today from my new book Not Just Desserts. Now the part of potatoes have been boiling for approximately for 35-40 minutes and you want to boil them just enough so the potatoes are softened because remember you have to puree you don't want to get any hard potatoes you are going to get only chunks. At this point we are going to add in our jalapeño, our margarine or butter and our salt and a little bit of pepper. Remember this is a jalapeño potato soup so it is suppose to be hot. You can add more jalapeño peppers if you want or more pepper, you can add chilies and you can actually add your favorite hot pepper to this soup. So we are going to wait until this is nice and softened and in a few minutes we are going to test the potato to make sure that it is ready to puree. "
