"Hi! I'm Amanda with Expert Village. In this clip, I'm going to be coring and trimming the apples flat. I've got my 4 apples here. I like to start coring the apples from the bottom to the top so that way you have a wider base to work with. I'm going to core the apple and I'm going to core it about 3/4 of the way down so that when we stuff the apple, the stuffing doesn't fall out of the bottom. I'm just going to start here making my way around the core being careful not to get all the way to the bottom. Apples are a great fruit for autumn and they're best if you can buy them organic. Eating apples during the fall and the winter times of the year, it's best if you can bake the apples. They're too dry and can kind of aggravate the digestive system. I love apples baked and spiced. They're high in fiber, so they're good for the intestines as well. I'm just scooping the core of the apple right on out. These apples that we're working with are Golden Delicious apples. They have a really crisp flavor as well as they're wonderful for baking with. The apples are cored and there's no seeds inside of them. From here, we're going to trim off just a small part of the top, or rather the bottom of the apple so that the apple flat. When we stuff the apple, then we'll put the rest of the toppings just right on the top. Just a very thin slice. You've got a flat part of the apple. Right there on top."
