What to Expect at a Wine Tasting

"I'm Tish Cooper and I'm Amanda Persico for expertvillage.com at Joseph Filippi Winery, we're going to talk today about some wine selections. Well, when people come in to do a tasting at our winery we invite them up to the tasting area, we have an extensive tasting list to choose from. We ask them what they like, if they would normally, typically go for a sweet beverage or a dryer beverage and we start them off that way. We help them recognize smells that they would smell, tastes that they wouldn't normally look for that they might discover in a sip of wine. We help them learn what they're looking for, what to look for, clarity, color, all of that so that when they are done they can actually make a sound decision on a choice."
