"I'm Tish Cooper and I'm Amanda Persico for ExpertVillage.com at Joseph Filippi Winery and we're going to talk today about some wine selection. The top most purchased wines, most popular wines for people are Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, they are the most known wines. Why the Merlot first. It's a commonly known wine, just like a Chardonnay, it's something that is an automatic thought when people think wine, they think Chardonnay or Merlot. Second would be Cabernet Sauvignon. It's just a common thought, it's a comfortable choice that people make when they choose a wine. They are typically a little softer I think. Petite Syrah has a lot of character, you have to be, not a neophyte wine drinker to be drinking Petite Syrah."
