"I'm going to demonstrate; start to finish, tasting this lovely glass of Cabernet. The first thing I want to do is look at the wine, and I see that it has a beautiful ruby red color. It has a nice intensity; it's got beautiful tears that slip down and make me know that the wine is rich and powerful. I'm going to smell the wine. In the bottom of the glass I smell blackberry and blueberry. In the top of the glass I smell roses, and a little bit of black peppery spice. In the middle of the glass I smell a little bit of cedar, and leather, and wet dog, and earth, and also some wood. At the top of the glass; as I kind of expect in a Cabernet, I get some alcohol, and also some kind of leathery aromas. I'm going to taste the wine. It's very dry, it's got smooth acidity; fairly robust tannin, a little tiny hint of bitterness, and amazing flavors of fruit and spice. The aftertaste is lingering, persistent; it's still going on, and it's very dry, and very spicy. So I could say this is a beautiful ruby red wine with fruity, floral, spicy aromas; delightful finish, nice flavors, and all in all; well-balanced, and I like it."
