Step 1
Choose a ripe mango. Press slightly on the skin and look for an indentation.

Step 2
Cut through the mango, cutting a slab as big as possible, bypassing the pit. Score the slab by cutting horizontally through the fruit to the skin; repeat by cutting vertically.

Step 3
Invert the skin so that you can slice the fruit from the skin. It should come off in "chunks." Cut apart the chunks if you need to and add to your salad or plop in the blender.
