How to Peel a Mango

Time for a mango margarita? Mangoes are growing in popularity as they are now available in any grocery store in the country. Enjoy the sweetness of the fruit as an addition to your salad, the base of your mango salsa, or as a fruit you just simply eat off the rind. Here's how to peel a mango!

Step1

Choose a ripe mango. Press slightly on the skin and look for an indentation.

Step2

Cut through the mango, cutting a slab as big as possible, bypassing the pit. Score the slab by cutting horizontally through the fruit to the skin; repeat by cutting vertically.

Step3

Invert the skin so that you can slice the fruit from the skin. It should come off in "chunks." Cut apart the chunks if you need to and add to your salad or plop in the blender.
