Everybody has a box full of broken crayons just sitting around the house. Here is a way to turn those useless crayon stubs into a unique decoration for a jar/glass.
No need to use nice glasses. Get them from the thrift store for cheap or use jars you have around the house!
Always use caution when using an oven and handling hot trays.
Be cautious of the crayon wax. Getting it on clothing can be a pain.
Step1
Gather all materials and turn on the oven to 350 degrees.
Step2
Gather all your broken crayons together and peel off the wrappers.
Step3
Make sure you put on more than one layer of wax paper so the crayon doesn't seap through.
Place two sheets of wax paper onto your sheet tray.
Step4
You don't need to use a lot of colors. In fact, it might be better to use just two or three.
Place broken crayons onto center of sheet tray. Arrange the colors however you prefer. Every time you'll get a different result.
Step5
Place the sheet tray in the oven and watch as the crayons melt. It only takes a minute or so, so do not leave the oven unattended.
Step6
When crayons have melted, carefully remove and place onto hot pad.
Step7
Notice the crayon has started to peel off the wax paper. This is because it has hardened a little bit.
Immediately take your jar/glass/container and roll it along the melted crayons in a complete circle. (Be careful not to burn yourself!) If you do not roll it in a complete circle, there will be a gap in the design. If you wait too long, the crayon wax will not stick.
Step8
Set aside to dry. It only takes a few seconds. Enjoy!

Thank you for your very short yet effective video on how to decorate a jar or glass. I am looking forward to trying this myself. I never thought of decorating a jar with crayons until I saw this video.
