"Hi. I'm Allen and welcome to Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to build your very own personal computer. So let's go ahead just grab some memory right here. This one is just two fifty-six megabytes as I discussed before. Probably something around a gigabyte is at the least you should really get. But this is just for demonstration purposes. Now this one, we have the four slots and you'll see, one side, this side here is longer than this side so you really can't screw that up. And if you try to put it in, it's not going to go because obviously it doesn't line up. So let me just show you real quick. And with these older boards you want to really put the memory in the first slot. You'll see the Dimm slots, which they're called, labeled from zero to whatever number you have on here. And that's really what you want to start because that's the closest to the CPU. And for the most part you're going to have these clips. Go ahead open them up. You'll hear the little click. And you're going to want to put these in straight down, right in the slot. Give it a little pressure, little pressure and you'll hear it click into space. And that means it's installed. Your good to go. The other ones you can either leave them open or you can just close them up no big deal. Depending on what you want to do. Just put the IDE cable in the spot real quick just so I have it before I put the hard drive in the space for it. Now this one is a little bit crazy. So as I discussed before this is a IDE cable. And we also have the SATA cable, depending on what type of drive you're running. Now these usually come with your drives when you purchase them from the IDE hard drives to the IDE DVD drives. And for the most part you're going to look on here and also in your book it'll tell you which one's IDE one and IDE two or IDE zero and IDE one just depends on how they have it labeled. And again you have a little groove it can only go in one way here. And also you'll see usually on the board you'll have like a little arrow which means the red also goes that way just in case you screw up the groove somehow. But this one is my IDE slot one right here so I'm going to put it in. Little pressure make sure it's locked in place. And then we have, either you'll have one or two connectors on the back of it. So that's pretty much ready to go. The only other thing. Since we're going to put it in this system is the floppy. So I'll go ahead and grab my floppy cable right here. Nice gigabyte one. Same idea only goes in one way. So let's put it into the board here. Goes in place, feels nice and snug. And now we are ready to actually put the drives in."
