"DARREN STORR: Hi. My name is Darren Storr and on behalf of Expert Village, I want to show you guys how to run 800 meters successfully. Okay, usually in an 800-meter, it gives you a lot of time to think. For me, when I'm running the 800, I try to think of positioning myself early on in the race to help me with my finish. I'm trying to think how I'm going to run my second lap. I'm trying to think how I'm going to avoid the lactic acid in my body. I'm trying to just stay relaxed. Stay confident in the race. That's one of the main reasons I would do it. Try to stay confident in the race. Try to stay relaxed around the turn, each turns. Six hundred meters into a turn, like I say, lactic acid it starts to build, and once it starts to build, it shuts down your body. To avoid that, try not to think of it too much. Try to run efficiently. Try to run with a proper motion, a proper cycling motion, heel to butt. Maintain a fluent course of running. This will help a lot."
