"DARREN STORR: Hi. My name is Darren Storr and on behalf of Expert Village, I want to show you guys how to run 800 meters successfully. One of the things, the 800 meters is a staggered race. It's a very position race. It's run two laps around the track. First lap, you usually run between 50 seconds and to 55 seconds for the first lap. This is event more of a combo of speed and an aerobic endurance so most of your energy are geared towards your first lap of the 400 meters. The 800-meter is also a staggered position so meaning the 800-meter will start top of the turn into the first 100 meters. Each runner stays in their lane after the first 100 meters, then they break through the other lane."
