"Your lats are a place where you generate a lot of your power for the swim so using a lat machine and again, with the lat pull down you can do some variation--hands apart, hands narrow, you can even do an overhand grasp to work a variety of different muscles. Another exercise that's really helpful for swimming is a seated row. And you want to keep your back straight, feet extended, and let the weight pull your body forward, back straight, pull towards you. In general, an all around body conditioner is the bench press. Again strengthening muscles that will help stabilize you on the bike and will also help you generate power on the swim."
