"Hi, I'm Billy Kidd, and I'm here on Expert Village and we're going to talk about the five-two defense. Allows these linebackers again to run free back here, find the gap that the offense is trying to get through and fill it in a hurry and make a play. On this right here, there's only two gaps that really aren't covered and that would be this C gap and this A gap, which allows you're two linebackers to either fill those in a hurry or move to get to them. Now, with that reduction on that back side here, it allows you to take more gap control. You can also do the same thing on the front side if you want to even though you have a tight end on that side. You're not going to reduce the end but you're just going to reduce this tackle and move him down again to give you a little different, to give the offense a little different look, to make this front up here to think a little bit different about how they're going to block a certain play and to give you a stronger attack here at the center, maybe to give this nose tackle a little more protection to where he doesn't have to worry about two gaps, he can focus on one gap because you have the other one covered."
