Three-three defense, as we've talked about you know is primarily to help stop the pass when you're in a spread offense. Now, the negative to a three-three defense though, is you can see, you've got six people here to control the line of scrimmage but these six people are in a stacked position and spread over the field. So, one of the down falls of a three-three defense is to get your running game going to where you put yourself in a position to outnumber this three-three front with your offense and the way that you typically do that, the way that you typically do that is either one you can overload a running back as a blocker and you can bring a receiver with you as a ball carrier and all of a sudden what it's done, you've still kept your spread on the offense but you've probably turned him into the ball carrier and him into a blocker and now all of a sudden you've got four people, with the backside guard you've got five people to block these four and your ball carrier here. That's one negative when you have so few people on the defensive front and it's spread out amongst that line from tackle to tackle as it gives you a chance to overload it into what we call gash them with running plays because of the way they've spread out.
