"Hi, I'm Billy Kidd and I'm here on Expert Village to talk about the 3-3 defense. In the 3-3 defense, what you typically come up with, when they've come up with this defense, is the three defense linemen, the three linebackers in the stack position, behind each other. You can see that you've got five offensive linemen; you've got a center, two guards, and two tackles. You'd have the quarterback, possibly one running back. This defensive formation was created to mainly help cover what they call the spread offense. The spread offense is where you're going to have four receivers out here, they're going to be running pass routes, therefore you need more defensive back coverage, as few as individuals in the defensive formation up front as possible, to be able to rush the passer and take control of the game. And this formation right here, in this 3-3 front, it allows you to do many things."
