"Hi I'm Billy Kidd here at Expert Village, and we're going to talk about the dime defense. One we got to get a good rush from three people on the quarterback, or we can do a combination of blitzes with these backs, or we can bring one, or both of them. If your bringing both of them, then what your trying to do is get as maximum pressure on the quarterback with maximum coverage. The negative is if you do not get to the quarterback, you got five receivers running across the field eventually somebody?s going to come open and the quarterback is going to find him. One way to eliminate that is, is if you got confidence in your three defensive linemen here, that they can get a good enough rush on the quarterback, that they can hurry the ball a little bit, then you can take these two linebackers, and you can have them actually turn to the sidelines, and they can look for a receiver that?s running any inside route, right here, and have double help. So therefore there actually walling this right here to, taking receivers away from the quarterback, and allowing the defensive linemen some time to get to the quarterback."
