"Hi, I'm Billy Kidd with Expert Village and we are going talk about the dime defense. So you got the five receivers here, and you got to defend them. They declared that they are going to throw the football or give you the impression that they are going to do nothing but throw the football. You're typically always going to have the certain defensive front that you like to run. Most teams now a days utilize some type of four defensive linemen. So we've got two tackles and two defensive ends. So there is four of your defensive fenders right there. The dime package means that they are going to have six defensive backs. Well you've got four defensive linemen, and you've got four defensive backs, that leaves you one line backer right here. What you need to have done is to take another or extra line backer and put him out into a coverage position, or you have taken him off the field completely and you add another defensive back, a pure defensive back. Either a safety or a quarterback."
