"Hi, I'm Billy Kidd, I'm here on Expert Village and we're going to talk about the five-three defense. So, the objective of all this is to start with is to make sure that your personnel makes sure that they control their gap and their assignment by working hard into the offensive person, controlling their spot on the field, so that their building a wall and not allowing any penetration or any movement by the offensive people. So when these running backs get here, there's no place for them to get in and block which basically bunches all this up here and allows time for everything to collapse on it so that you're not allowing any offensive penetration or offensive yards down the field."
