Top Lunge in Step Aerobics

"We're going to start begin building our choreography so I'm going to take two approaches on this step. It's a basic step with a lunge from the top so now it becomes an eight count movement instead of a four count movement. So I'm going to start with a right lead of a basic step but now I'm on the top my approach is going to be from the top and I'm going to add a little tiny reverse lunge and a step down. So again let me show you from your prospective right foot lead I step up for a basic I lean slightly forward tap the right foot down then the left foot down and exit the bench. So in a step tempo it's a little bit faster it would be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and 8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and 8. I can also increase the intensity of that by adding what we call rhythm changes or quick movements. Once you understand the basics we want to get people to progress to a more complex or intensified move. So you might see these movement but still a basic is still basic with lunge back but I add speed to that, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 . Again making sure that my heels hit the bench and my heels hit the floor. To review that with the left foot left lunge exit the bench or to increase the intensity step up lunge and exit the bench."
