How to make your iPod into a movie theater

No doubt, watching movies in a movie theater has many benefits than watching them on your iPod, so most iPod users dream of making their iPod a movie theater. I mean not in the cinema, but outdoors with your iPod. So magical! Yes, it is magical but no any magic you need to have.. Watch this YouTube video first. I’ve made this the other day, and you will know what it takes to do just that.

Things You’ll Need:

• DVD to iPod converter
• A Mobile Projector
• A Webcam
• A green laser pointer（www.highlasers.com)

1. 1. First get your favorite DVD or video file you want to watch... I chose Star Wars (classic!)...One of my favorite DVD collections. You can also use the video file you downloaded from internet. There are many sites offering the free-download of the Iron Man or Speed Racer. You may as well save them for your coming-soon widescreen experience.
2. Convert DVD to iPod 2. Next, find a way to convert your DVD to iPod. A lot of choices to choose from Google. The software I used in the video is PQ DVD to iPod converter Suite, the most amazing DVD to iPod converter I’ve ever used. It takes less than 10 minutes to convert my Star Wars.
3. outdoors sky 3.Get up from the sofa, and go outdoors. Bring your loved ones or parties if you like. Find your screen, a hill or a wall, which may be as wide as skylight.
4. mobile projector 4.Get one mobile projector, and connect it to your iPod by using A/V cable. It also works when your projector has a built- in iPod dock.

The laser can be taken as a mouse here.You can use ready-to-use Laser Tag software without the programming by yourself. Tips: I get a 10mw green laser from highlasers.com. It's more powerful than you may expect from such a little gadget.
6. 6.Use a webcam to capture the location of the laser dot， and the captured image will be sent to the computer for recognition. This can be done using OpenCV software library if you have a lot of programming skills.

Tips & Warnings

• A 1500-2000 lumen projector is quite enough. Projectors are quite inexpensive now, so it is a dream easily come true!
• When navigating the movie-showing, any 5mw-20mw green laser is ok.(highlasers.com, the right laser for you is always available)
• You can bring your parties to see the movie in your backyard, or propose to your loved one under the moonlight or star.
• If you really wanna use more powerful ones, please make sure you never point it at any people or their eyes.
