"Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton from the Reserve Spanos Park and today we are going to talk about putting and in particular, we are going to talk about players alignment and ball position in putting. What you will notice here is the ball position is basically where a player puts and lines up his putter to the ball. This would be back in a players stance, this would be more in a middle of a stance and this would be a little bit farther up in a stance. In putting we generally want the ball farther up in a stance and that is because we want this player to be able to get his head farther behind the ball so that it is easier to line up his golf club. Again what's really important is how he the player lines up this golf club and make sure that he is on the line that he is determined. What happens is when a player gets his hands back behind like this, it is going to be harder to make a stroke. You don't want to hit up on the ball; you are always going to want to hit and make it more level. So what we do on this is and again this determines the players ball position when it is back in its stance back here, it's going to be a little harder for this player to actually get his head lined up to line up the putter. Again he would have to lean back and you will see if you are going to be dropping the ball, that when I drop a ball from here, he gets his head lined up behind the ball. If we actually put it back in a stance, you will see when we drop a ball again here, you will see it is a little more in private. This would be a harder way to line up the golf club. When we actually talk about alignment, alignment is basically where a player lines up his feet, typically when you are hitting a golf shot this is where you are going to be aiming. In putting, it's not quite as important to have your feet aimed on the line that you are actually hitting, sometimes it would be better to have your stance open and that also helps the player line up the body. We don't really have to have our feet aimed directly on the line that we are actually using. Again this is because we are not making a full golf swing but we are also not having to shift weight and generate a lot of speed. So what we are going to do is open this player's stance a little bit and it will actually help the player to see the hole. In his perrifial vision when he gets his ball set up, we talked about ball positioning, we put the ball a little bit further up and he is going to help his player actually now see the line as he is going towards the hole. When we opens up, he can still have his shoulders here. His shoulders are still going to be towards the hole, his hips are still, his grip here is still lined up, the back of his hand is still lined up on his line and it actually helps a player line it up but it doesn't affect the way his path of his stroke is. We talked about path of his stroke; if you actually set up in a way where it keeps the putter from going back on a straight path to your target, then we would have to change something but just opening the stance, will not affect that and it would actually help the player line the putter up."
