"Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton and we are here at the Reserve at Spanos Park. Today we are going to talk about a shot that you see a lot more on TV and some of the pros and how to basically spin a shot and what you can do to actually get a ball to spin more. In certain sense, where you want the ball to actually get on the green and stop really quick. You have two choices there; you can hit a really locketed shot and again you will see a player hit a shot that has a lot more spin on it. We'll show you how to do that. What we are talking about is how we spin a shot. Again a lot of players look at the pros on TV and watch how the ball is actually spinning and come back and how they stop. They will tell you a lot of this has to do with the particular ball that you play; a soccer ball or round ball. It's not two balls any more but what they will have is a softer cover, something with elastic that actually sticks on longer than actually a ball or two piece ball. What you will find is there is a lot of techniques to it but most of it has to do with the actual type of ball that you play. We are going to show you here a shot that is a little bit down hill. We've got it about 30 or 40 feet and try to spin it because we've got a pin that is pretty close to the edge here. What creates spin on a golf ball is to the club. So we are going to take a sandwich here. A lot of times they will have a 56, some players take a 60 degree. A 60 degree will lock the tire and again if you are trying to stop it quick and two ways you can do it; lock it higher and put more spin on it. By actually adding lock to it, you are actually going to put a little bit more spin. What we are going to do is talk about how the angle of the shot will actually affect the spin of the ball. So when we actually take a steeper blow or down swing at the ball, you are actually going to hit the ball with a little more of an angle and it is going to create more back spin. The technique you can use to actually spin a ball more is actually keep your hands a little bit looser. What we are going to do is actually become very wristy on this shot and actually get some of the club will slide basically under the ball but also on a descending blow. The only way you can do that is to actually keep a really really loose hand and you are actually going to get this club moving a lot at the bottom so the club actually will go under it. So what we are going to do is take a little shot again. We are going to have a really relaxed hand. Take a little longer swing; try to get the ball spinning off the bottom of the club. It doesn't matter whether its a tight line or if you get it in the rough you are going to get it spinning off the bottom of the club. Again it doesn't matter if it is a tight line or if you get it in a ruff you are going to get grass between the grooves of your club or ball which is going to take a long of spin off of it. You are also going to loose the ability to actually get these grooves on the ball. What you do is higher. It may come off a little bit lower sometimes."
