"Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton from the Reserve at Spanos Park and today we are going to talk about the golf swing. In particular we are going to talk about alignment and how we align our body to the target. We will show you exactly how we do that. Okay when we talk about alignment what we are talking about is how do we line our body to the target. What we usually do in golf is we will actually take what we use parallel clubs. When we look at parallel clubs, we are going to try to get our feet and our body aligned in such a way that it is basically perpendicular to your ball and parallel with your target line. What we will do is we will actually put a ball down and get our feet aimed slightly to the left of the target and what I mean slightly to the left is that what you will want to see is when we actually have the ball at your target, you actually have your feet and your body is going to be just parallel to that. Anytime that you are aiming at your target, you are going to be slightly left for a right hander of your target. When you get to a closer shot, again your are going to have closer shots with wedges and you may want to stand a little bit open on chip shots but basically on a full swing shot you are going to have your body parallel with the target line and your feet will be aiming slightly left. When we do that, it gives you a nice solid feel so that when you actually take the club back, you push along your target line and actually hit it and start it down your target line. When you see a player actually lining up and this is a down the line shot here. When you actually watch a player line up to his target, you are going to see the two clubs here parallel be his ball or target line and this would be his feet where his body is actually aligned. You will see that these are parallel to my target and when you set up, everything is square and that is when you actually feel that you are actually hit it to your target line. Any time that a player gets lined up you either open or close, you are going to have trouble hitting the ball solid. Again one of the things you really want to stay away from is a lot of times players will actually get their feet and body aims closed and what happens with that is that it really deteriorates the swing in a sense that now I have to actually fall backwards to try and get it back on its parallel line in here. If ever you were going to air one way or other, but if you were ever open too much it is actually going to get the ball to start off a little bit left and cut to your target. So anytime you get a little more square to the target, it is actually easier to get the ball started down your target line and actually square to your target. "
