"Now, I have two sudo attackers with me and they are going to punch towards my chest and I'm going to show you how this block actually works. Alright, starting over here, Mr. Bad Man is going to punch and there's block number 1 and block number 2. What happens when the punch comes towards me, where does it go? Here? Is it at my chest anymore? No, it kept going but it's going past me, it's not in this plane anymore towards my body. Again from this side, it went past me. What else does it do? One more thing, let's take it really slow punch really slow like slow motion. What happens to this attackers chest? Is it open or closed? It's open, so what can I do once his chest is open? Is I can attack him now. Another advantage that you gain from this block is that it closes off your opponent. So for example, a punch is coming towards me...I'm going to scoop, block and redirect. What happens to this attackers body? Is he open or close to me? Very closed off, his other fist is on the other side of his body and what's open for me? I have his ribs, I have his eyes, I have his tempo, I have his nose, any of these areas I'm free to strike. You have the hammer strike to the tempo, I can do a palm heel strike to the ribs. All of these moves we went over recently. So, again you can either block a punch and have the attacker be open, right here and be open. Or have the attacker close himself off and then I get to have my way with him. Those are blocks."
