"Right now I am going to be discussing marathon training and the wall and how to get over it. The wall is basically a time in the marathon when your body is almost in survival mode and it is no longer an enjoyable event. Commonly this happens for runners at mile 20 to mile 22. There are two reasons why you might enter the wall and that is the amount of energy that you have left in your body. Also, while you are training for longest run that your ran. A way to get over the wall is to slow down your pace and bring it to an aerobic pace also known as a conversational pace. This pace is where you burn the most fat and your fat is being utilized which gives you the energy to finish the marathon. If you run out of the glycogen, which comes from the carbohydrates, you can no longer utilize this fat and your body will basically shut down. If you consume any energy drinks it will not even be digested quickly enough for you to be able to utilize this It is very important that you do the proper training in order to not reach the wall, which will inhibit you from finishing the marathon."
