"I am going to show you ways to train for a marathon. This is known as a race pace method. If your goal is to have a certain amount of time to finish a marathon, let’s say four and a half hours, you are going to want to have a target of having your miles be 10 minutes long. You want the marathon to be consistent so that you can keep a consistent rate. A good way to train for this and measure the time is to use a treadmill. Use the time option as a way to measure it. If your goal is to run a 10 minute mile, and when your mile ends up being 15, you need to slow down and not try to compensate for the lost time in the next mile because that will result in fatigue and injury of the muscles."
