"Hi I’m Angela on behalf of Expert Village.com and right now I am going to show you a way to increase flexibility if the buttocks. What you want to do is have a floor mat. Make sure you have one of these because working on the ground surface right here will put a strain on all your joints and cause more discomfort. It is a very simple exercise but it helps out a lot since the buttocks are involved and so many stretches and things involve flexibility. What you want to do is first extend both legs, have your hands relaxed in front of you and bring just one leg up and grab onto it and pull it towards your stomach lightly. Don’t pull it too drastically especially if you are beginning out because you run a risk of pulling your ham string and that defeats the whole purpose of stretching and increasing the flexibility of it. You just want to hold this 10 to 15 seconds breathing in and out. It increases the effectiveness of the whole stretch just making sure that you are breathing out drastically. Hold the stretch, keep it still and don’t pull on it. Release it, bring it down and do the next one. Make sure you do them individually. That you isolate these muscles because it is much more effective to do that rather than to just try to do both at once. The stretch is very minimal as compared to what is achieved by just individually stretching them. "
