"Hi, I'm Ches Rainier, welcome to Expert Village. Today we're going to be talking about some techniques used to clean a fiberglass boat. So, in this clip we're going to talk about cleaning the bottom of the boat. We cleaned the top of the boat; the bottom of the boat is going to need to be cleaned too. People have their boats on different cleaning schedules for their bottom, depending on the ablative/non-ablative bottom paint that they've applied to their boat to stop marine growth. So, this boat's pretty clean. It just had a bottom job, so we're not going to clean it today, but if we were, we'd need a diver to go underneath and scrub the bottom of the boat--algae and things like that grow on there. The diver will go down and clean the bottom of the boat. But what we can do at the dock is we can clean the waterline down to about a foot or so. Just get a good scrub brush like the one we used on the top of the boat. Just kind of go over the bottom paint at the waterline. It makes the diver's job easier, and might cost you less money."
