" Hi! My name is Dan and I am here with Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about some under layers or base layers to be used while outside in the wilderness camping or hiking. There are a variety of different brands but they all come down to pretty much the same thing. They are going to be a light weight synthetic material designed to wick sweat away from your body. It is designed to be worn as a base layer so it goes on and you wear it as underwear. You want it to fit tight and close to the skin in order to be in contact with your sweaty areas. There is also a variety of different of weights. This happened to be light weight so it is good for summer time travel. I often wear just this as my top shirt and there is mid weight and heavy weight depending on your activities and the clothing you are going to be wearing over them may be appropriate. When selecting a base layer, you want to look to see exactly what it is made out of and you want to select one with no cotton in it. Because when cotton gets wet, it looses all its insulating values and it takes a long time to dry out. "
