" Hi! My name is Dan and I am here with Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about backpacks. There are a number of different sizes of backpacks and it is important before going out on an expedition to determine how long you are going to be going for and the gear you are going to be carrying. This will determine the size of your backpack. You don’t want a pack that is too large and when it is packed with all the gear, it is going to look empty and a lot of extra material floating around. Likewise, you don’t want to stuff too much gear into a small pack. Certain packs have different ratings or weight that they are designed to carry. A pack this size is good for about 30 to 35 pounds whereas a pack this size is about 6400 cubic inches and is good for carrying 60 to 80 pounds. Also when choosing a pack, you want to get the size that is right for your torso length. You also want to examine what kind of option and upside pockets it comes with. As you travel more and more with a pack, you are going to learn what you like and what you dislike. Some people like a thick waist band; others like a thinner waist band. As I said there are all kinds of different packs and some fit certain body shapes better than others. So before you buy one, it’s good to try them all on. "
