" Hi! My name is Brandon. I'm with expertvillage.com, and today I”m going to show you how to rock climb. Another helpful technique to learn is a hand movement technique. Specifically, the first one I'll show you is called an under cling. Under clings allow you to pull your body close to the wall and reach up to your maximum extent. The under cling is when you're reaching, putting your hand upside down on a hole in order to pull your body into the wall, keeping you as tight as you can, allowing you to extend your maximum reach. The start hold on this yellow route is an under cling. You can see the starting foot is out here. That'll be my left foot. I'm going to have my left hip in the wall. Holding my right hand underneath this hold, I step up keeping all the weight of my body on my left foot, extend up, and reach way out left. Then keeping my hand on the under cling, walk my feet over and step up. "
