"Hi! My name is Brandon. I'm with expertvillage.com, and today I”m going to show you how to rock climb. After the figure 8's knot tied, the next step will be to tie yourself in. To do this, take the very end of the rope, pass it through the loops on your harness. Pull the knot so it's approximately 1 or 2 inches away from your harness. The next step with the very end of the rope you have, you're going to be retracing the figure 8 knot you previously tied. To do this, you want to follow the piece coming out of your harness and into the knot. You're going to keep the end of the rope on the outside of the knot and pass it through the bottom. Again, pull through so the knot's a couple inches away from your harness. Now to keep it matched up, you're going to wrap it around the top of the knot, take the very end of the rope, pass it through the bottom hole, pull tight. Final step, continue retracing it by passing the end of the rope or around the bottom. Final step, end of the rope goes to the very top hole. When you pull it tight, this knot should be perfectly matched up. Nothing in crossing over and it's a properly dressed figure 8 knot. This is called the rewoven figure 8. What this knot is when you pull it tight, it's cinches up on itself. If you fall, it makes certain it doesn't come undone."
