How To Wire Low Voltage Deck Lights and Post Caps - Part 5 - Run your 16-2 wires from post to post underneath the handrail. Staple the wire up every 6" or so making sure not to staple through the wire.

Step1
Feed the 16 gauge wire up through the holes.
Step2
Run it out to each successive post. Staple it up every 6" or so underneath the handrail. Be careful not to staple through the wire. Make sure the staple goes cleanly around the wire.
Step3
Pick one post and run the 16 gauge wire down the post to underneath the deck. Make your connection to the 12 gauge wire that runs to the transformer. I use the bigger wire under the deck and the smaller wire above because it hides better.
