"GRAYDON BLAIR: My name is Graydon Blair from Utah Biodiesel Supply and on behalf of Expert Village, it's time to talk about how to use biodiesel in your vehicle. We talked about how to save our miles per gallon and save on the cost of the fuel but now, we want to know how to use it. First and foremost, biodiesel can be used in any diesel engine, unmodified. A couple of caveats though, if your vehicle is older than 1993 or older, there's a chance that the lines, the fuel lines were made out of rubber which can deteriorate as you use biodiesel. So, you might want to look at it. Just check with your manufacturer and they'll let you know. The other thing is biodiesel is like super powered inject cleaner and it will clean your tank out. And so, there's a chance that all that stuff that it cleans out from using petrol for so many years will plug your fuel filter. It's a good idea to change that fuel filter before you ever start using biodiesel and then be ready to change it as you use it within the first couple of thousand miles because it's going to clean it really well. After you've done that, using biodiesel is just as simple as putting it in your tank and driving down the street to use it. You can save the gallons right from the start and that's how to use biodiesel."
