"GRAYDON BLAIR: Hi, my name is Graydon Blair from Utah Biodiesel Supply and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to prepare titration solution for making biodiesel. It's fairly easy to do but it does have some key things from our titration kit. The first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to measure out a liter of water. This is distilled water, so I'm just going to pour a liter of water. I just have a marking here I'm watching and I try and be as exact as possible. Okay. So, we got a liter there. And I'm going to measure out a gram of catalyst which is potassium hydroxide in this case. I'm using this tiny little scale, the top has graduations of grams and the bottom has graduations of point grams. So, I'm going to move this up to 1 gram. I'm going to put this on here until I get just a gram. I have to be really careful 'cause a gram is not much. Come on. Okay. They were balancing. You'll notice that I'm balancing at a gram of potassium hydroxide. I'm going to put that gram of stuff into here and that will be my titration solution. I'm going to mix that in and when it's all mixed up, it'll take a few minutes to mix and then I'm going to pour it in here and will be ready to titrate with our titration kit. The titration kit is important because we're going to use it to measure how much acid is in the oil."
