"GRAYDON BLAIR: My name is Graydon Blair from Utah Biodiesel Supply and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make a basic titration kit. You're going to need a titration kit for titrating bio oil to make biodiesel with. First thing you're going to need to get is distilled water. You can get it from a local store. It doesn't really matter. You need some isopropyl alcohol. I like to get 91% proof. You just basically need as good as you can get. You're going to need a pH indicator. This is called phenolphthalein. You can also use phenol red which can be got purchased at a spa store or pool store. And you can also purchase used spice called turmeric. For details on this, go to biodieseltutorial.com and they'll tell a little more about it. But basically, you just need something that's going to indicate your pH. You're also going to need some cups that you can do the titration in. You're going to need one for your titration solution, one for your oil, one for you alcohol and then I always like to keep a spare around. You're also going to need a scale to measure your catalyst with as you mix your solution together to prepare it. This scale is good to 0.01 grams and it's important that you get one that can read in that fine of a thing because the catalyst you're going to be putting, we're only going to be using a gram of catalyst. You also want some syringes. I have one for alcohol, oil and I use one for titration solution as well. We'll tell you a little bit more about what those are. But those are the three syringes I'm going to use. And then I'm also going to need something to put my titration solution in which is just a jug that can hold a liter of fluid. I also need something that I can measure a liter of fluid in. This is just a small little pitcher and it's got graduations up to a liter. These are the basic items that you're going to need to make a titration kit with. You also need the oil that you're going to titrate. Get these together and you'll be set."
