"Hello! My name is Steve Kennedy, and I am here at Warren Cliff Chrysler at London Ontario, Canada with some tips to help you in your buying decision of your next vehicle. Next in our game plan on used vehicles is to make sure that the vehicle is free of liens. What that is if somebody else has claim on that particular property so you want to make sure that the vehicle is free and clear and that there is nobody else that has any sort of claim on the property that you are going to be purchasing. This could be a major problem later on especially if you are dealing with a private individual. Mostly with dealers you have to again, have recourse but you can’t be stuck wit another lien because that is something that should have been cleared up or at least disclosed to you that there is still some money owing on the vehicle. It is something that you should check and you can do that easily on the Internet. There are several places that can do that for you. Even if you get the VIN number, which is unique to every single vehicle, you can go to any bank or dealership and they can check that to make sure that the vehicle is free of liens for you. It is a protection thing for you to make sure that there are no surprises later on."
