"I want to rip out that tube. You don't need it anymore. It's got a hole in it, maybe two, maybe three. Pull it on out and get that valve stem out. Once you've got the tube out, look at that tire and just kind of feel in there and make sure you don't have a thorn or a piece of glass or whatever that object was that gave you a flat. Generally speaking it is just going to be compression so you are not going to have an object in the tire carpus and sometimes you do. So you just want to feel through that and give it a couple of good feelings, feel around in there and make sure you don't have any foreign objects in that tire. Sometimes it hurts when you get poked a little bit and then you know, oh that's what that is. Anyway so this is the tube you are going to fold up and you are going to take with you and you are going to patch it when you get home. You don't want to sit around and patch a tube right now and you were smart and you brought a spare tube. So you get that spare tube in, you want to start by inflating it just a little bit so that it will kind of feel out that tire. So you grab a pump or C02 inflater pump. It is better to use a pump for this part just so that it can kind of fill out that tire. All right now you are ready to throw the tube back in the tire and get that wheel spinning on the bike and keep the rubber side down. Put a smile on your face and keep riding. We are going to head up that hill and catch up to my friends that kept going or if they are nice, they waited for me. We are all ready to go. Do it!"
