"Today we are going to talk a little bit about boat maintenance. Another thing you've got to remember while you're on the water is there are no mechanics. So a lot of the major problems you are going to have you are going a have to try to resolve them by yourself. To do this you are going to need a set of tools. Central for maintenance is going to be a full set of wrenches so that you can fit all your bolts, tighten up things, make sure that things are secure and fix things that you would need just a normal size wrench set for. You are going to need screwdrivers for all kinds of stuff: prying things; tightening screws; taking screws out; replacing screws and just general maintenance. You can always use the hammer. If you've got the tool kit it's a necessity to have it in there. Pliers are going to be used for rewiring, fixing electrical problems, stripping wires, installing new wires, cutting wire, and cutting ropes; if need be. Another thing you might want to have on your boat is a drill. Whenever you are installing new devices, new electronics, running cable, running ropes, or installing new cleats you might have to end up drilling some new holes to mount the devices there. A drill is a great item to have on a boat, especially if have power while your under operation. Another thing you might want to have is a zipper and snap lubricant. This is not only going to help you to make it easy whenever you are unzipping and zipping your zippers it is also going to protect them from corrosion and keep them from locking up. That just increases the longevity of your top and of all the zippers and components that are around the boat. One other thing you definitely aught to have on the boat is some silicone marine sealer. This sealer will stop leaks. If your boat is leaking you're going down. Keeping an efficient tool kit on board your vessel will help you solve problems quickly and keep the boat running."
